Accept and Believe

Romans 1:20: For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

At some point we will all be called to give an account of our life and choices. Either before Jesus - which will bring reward and eternal life or before God - for why we did not accept His Son, which will bring eternal death & eternity in Hell. Romans 1:20 says we will have no excuse. "But I didn't know" will not cut it. "No one ever told me" will not be a valid argument.

Matthew 16:15-17:

Then he (Jesus) asked them, "But who do you say I am?"

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God."

Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being."

Why was Simon Peter blessed? Not because God had revealed himself to him but because he accepted and believed what had been revealed to him.

The same blessing is available to us all - accept what God has been revealing since the beginning of creation - God loves each of us beyond measure and sent Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God (God in human flesh) to prove it and validate His love for us by paying our ransom with his own blood, body and life.

This blessing will endure from now through all eternity. We are given the power to choose - blessing (in Christ) or cursed (without Christ) and either one carries the weight of forever.

There is no excuse. You either accept and believe in Jesus or you don't. You either follow him or you don't. You will either stand before him and receive a crown of life or you won't. Our choices carry weight. Measure yours carefully.

May you be blessed in the same way as Simon Peter - by your own faith in Jesus and accepting what God has clearly shown you! If you have not - make the confession today that you accept and believe - "Jesus, you are my Messiah (Savior), the Son of the Living God, the Lord of all creation and Lord of my Life".
