Psalm 34:5-8
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles.
For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh the joys of those who take refuge in him.
Have you really tasted the Lord's goodness or do we just "use" him as a solution to our problems? He will help us. That is his nature. The thing we need to realize is that he wants to help but not just be an on call genie in a bottle. He wants to grow us. He wants to teach us. His help often times comes through learning. We must be willing and desire to learn his ways. God's desire is for us to know him.
Hosea 6:6 - I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings.
When we make the time and develop the desire to really know God that enables him to really be part of our lives. So ask yourself: Do I desire to know my God or do I just want a solution to a problem?
Matthew 7:7-8 - Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Desire that which is greater - desire to know him, desire to spend time with God and allow him to teach you. The answer is available but it may be that he wants to show you how to move forward and grow into who you can be rather that simply being a Mr. Fix it
and leaving you as you are to be in the same predicament again.
