Benefits

1Corinthians 12:27 - All of you together are Christ's body and each of you is part of it.

Have you found your "place" in Christ's body? Have you committed to a "home church"? Christ instituted the Church with purpose on purpose.

Many times we see church as:

Going to a worship service

Listening to a sermon

Having to get all dressed up

Checking off a box of "done"

We see it from a "what do I get out of it" perspective.

This was not original plan. Yes we should learn about Jesus, learn from the Bible and have times of sincere worship but the church was to be build for:

Building up of believers

Strengthening each other

Helping each other

Living life in and with a Spiritual family

Being surrounded by like minded believers

Attracting non- believers to Christ

Community

Safety

Jesus told Peter - (Matthew 16:18) "You are Peter (which means rock), and upon this rock I will build my church". This building began in Acts 2 and has continued through the ages. Christ does not build in vain. If he is building a church it is intentional - for him and for us. There is no perfect church because there are no perfect people. Find a place where you fit, where the beliefs and teaching line up with the Bible. Compare the teaching to God's Word by praying and reading it for yourself. Never take someone's word that "the Bible says" without fully investigating it for yourself.

John 13:35 - "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples". - Jesus.

Find a body to be part of - to love, that can love you and grow in your knowledge and love for Christ. This is for your benefit and the benefit of others - for Christ, as directed by Christ.
