Hebrews 13:14-15 - For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to his name.
A lot said in 2 verses!
God is preparing a place for all who have trusted Jesus Christ as Lord. Whatever we have, have done or want to do is nothing compared to what is to come! We don't know when but we can trust that if God says it is coming - It is coming! Praise God this broken world and wearing out body is not all there is! Whatever is broken in your world is not forever. When we are called "Home" to be with the Lord there is no more tears, no more death or sorrow or crying or pain - Revelation 21:4
The second verse is how we gain what God wants to give us - proclaiming allegiance to His name - the Name of Jesus. Church attendance and even membership won't cut it. Being a "good person" or doing good things won't bring you there. Money and influence are useless in the economy of Eternity. Allegiance - being aligned with Christ, being committed to Christ, putting your complete trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior. Allegiance with and to Christ is all that will matter when the "Come Home" announcement is made!
John 14:6 - "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." - Jesus.
