Psalm 110:1 - The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet."
Jesus repeated this same passage in Mark 12:36. Then Hebrews 1:3 reminds us again where Jesus is - The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.
These passages should give us great encouragement! Jesus is sitting in his rightful place of authority - at the right hand of the Father. He is still at work. He is still "in power". He is still the Son of God. He is still the first born from among the dead. He is still and will always be the only way to the Father (John 14:6-7).
The day is coming though when Jesus will rise up, step away from that throne and walk through the door of heaven, throw it open and call his faithful believers home. We will have 7 years worth of celebration while the earth is enduring the tribulation. At the end of that time Jesus will once again step out of heaven and defeat the evil of this world - crushing them under his feet.
Be encouraged that Jesus is still on his throne next to our Father. But even more so have HOPE of what is to come - when he steps off his throne, Jesus our loving Savior will call us to Him for a celebration we can't imagine then bring us with Him to set up His throne and establish His complete rule here.
Our King will surely come! He will come with all the glory and power of heaven and the Father! Be filled with encouragement and hope for He is faithful.
Psalm 110:7: ....... He will be victorious.
