Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit in me.
Do not banish me from your presence,
and don't take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and make me willing to obey you.
As I read this passage two words really stuck out - RENEW & RESTORE.
We all need these at times. Work depletes. Exercise depletes. Raising kids depletes. Ministry depletes. School depletes. Even the things that bless us the most deplete us if we do not take in the nutrients we need to replenish. Our great God is more than willing to meet our needs if we come to him.
It's really amazing how a transfer of strength, of power, of life happens simply by getting quiet, making time for our Father and just beginning to say "Thank you" to him for all He has done and has given. Are you breathing? Thank you Lord for oxygen! Do you have clothes on? Thank you Lord for covering me! Did you eat today? Thank you Lord for your provision! Do you know Jesus? Have you accepted him as your Savior? Thank you Lord for my Salvation!
There is always something to be thankful for and God always has time for you! Come. Come to him and allow him to renew and restore you. He will because he loves you to the Cross and back to his Throne! He has already closed the gap between Heaven and Earth on your behalf - all you have to do is COME.
