The message in all of this is something that each and every Christian needs daily on our walk with The Lord…
12 For we do not wrestle against against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Paul uses the armor of the Roman soldiers an example in how to prepare ourselves daily as we walk with The Lord…Protecting ourselves from the evil one...
The Loins…the belt, strips of leather to protect the lower body / prepare yourself for hard work in service to God…with Truth...
The Breastplate…made of leather and covered with metal to protect the chest / living righteously, obeying God’s commandments…Righteousness...
The Feet…sandals or boots ( half boots ), made of leather for protection / to prepare ourselves in sharing The Gospel of peace with readiness…Gospel of Peace...
The Shield…wooden shield, covered with leather and soaked in water to extinguish flaming arrows / reminding us who God is and His protection…of Faith...
The Helmet…made of bronze metal, to protect the head and face…God provides hope during difficult times / assurance from Spiritual death…Salvation...
The Sword…usually about 24” long used in battle / The Word of God to be used against Spiritual warfare…of The Spirit...
Father God, thank You for providing The Whole Armor of protection, in Your Word…that we use daily on this journey…thank You for loving us and never giving up on us…In Jesus Name…Amen…
