I was visiting a friend of mine a few weeks ago, whose wife has went to be with the Lord a few months ago…he was sharing that when he quit smoking years ago, and had always thought that it was one of the most difficult things to over come in his life…but has realized it was nothing compared to the loss of his wife…not having her presence was and is hard to understand but God has given him some understanding in the loss of her…the question he deals with today is ; what does the Lord God want or have for me left to do?…he just wants to know so that he can move forward in his life...
He serves as a deacon of his church, worked at changing out the marquee letter sign weekly...
But had recently given it up due to climbing a ladder…and I ask had he ever thought about teaching a class ? And he replied that just wasn’t for him…and thats when the Spirit lead me to share with him that perhaps the Lord wants him to wait…
1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 For they themselves report about us what kind of reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, and to wait for His Son from heaven , whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.
The totality of a Christians’ life can be summed up like this… we turn to God, we serve God, and we wait on God…
But to wait on God is probably the hardest one of these three to do…this is something that none of us like to hear, the word Wait…
if we don’t see or feel His power moving us, then maybe we are rushing ahead of Him…What must we do meantime ?…keep ourselves in alignment with God / His Word and try not to get ahead of Him…and when the time is right, you will hear His voice in how to move forward…we need to put our Faith, our Trust, and our Obedience in Him during this time of Waiting…
Remember …Jesus may not be early but He’s not ever late…You can Count on Him…
Enjoy The journey...
In Christ...
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
